ignite on Sunday Mornings
(SPARKS & FLAMES Streams)

ignite is a minstry of St. Mary's, Loughton, and every Sunday we join together with the whole of the church family for the first half of their 10:15am service (click here to find out more about what that 45 minutes might look like)

Then we head over to the ignite centre for about an hour together doing activities, discussion, prayer and worship, following themes that link what the Bible has to say to everyday life.

And... because nobody ever gets up early enough on a Sunday to have breakfast before they come (!), Toast, Peanut Butter, Nutella and Orange Juice also feature heavily every week!

There's no need to sign up in advance, and there's no cost attached to any of our Sunday Morning activities either. If you'd like more information about what to expect before you come, or would like to come but need some help with transport, then click here to contact us and we'll see what we can do.

ignite on Sunday Nights

And if you'd to go deeper than our regular Sunday morning experience, we also head out once a
month to another church or event to get an idea of what's happening in the wider world of Christianity. You will need to
sign up for these trips as they are outside of the St. Mary's site but the only costs associated will be for travel, and maybe for some muchies if we grab some food together before or after. All the details you need you'll see below...

Hillsong
HILLSONG'S 10th BIRTHDAY @ THE o2

For one week only, Hillsong Church (see below for full details) have booked out the o2 in North Greenwich for their 10th Birthday celebrations. It's going to be an awesome evening, featuring the sensational worship band Delirious (as well as the Hillsong band of course who are pretty great themselves) as well as input from the founder of the Hillsong network, Brian Houston.

Two ways to get involved...
1:30-3:00pm there's a meeting for everyone who wants to get into 'United' - our joint youth services with EFCC and Loughton Vineyard - down at Grosvenor Hall in Debden (there will be pizza!) and we'll be going from there to...

3:30pm - Meet at Loughton Station, bring some cash for the tube or your Oyster card. Make sure you're on time because we can't be late or we'll sitting miles away at the back!

7:30pm (ish) - The service finishes and we'll start heading back

8:45pm - Get collected from Loughton Station

If you'd like to come along, SIGN UP NOW on the sign-up page and we'll get a parental consent form to you ASAP...

Hillsong Church London HILLSONG CHURCH

Hillsong Church meets in the Dominion Theatre, a stones throw away from Tottenham Court Road Station in Central London. With a worship team that regularly lead thousands into the presence of God every week, and preachers from all over the world, this visit will be a great opportunity for young people to connect with God in a way that is so rare outside of major Christian festivals like Soul Survivor and !Audacious.

When we head to Hillsong, we meet at Loughton Station at 3:45pm and travel down together for the 5:00pm service. Afterwards we usually head into Burger King for a quick dinner (so bring along between £3 and £5 depending how hungry you are!) and return to Loughton Station for 8:30pm.

London City Life Church LONDON CITY LIFE

LCL is a church linked to the Assemblies of God denomination. AoG are the main people behind Youth Alive UK, who in turn, run the !Audacious conference, which is one of the highlights of the ignite year. So, if you come along, you can expect to have some of the brilliant atmosphere of !Audacious - the friendship, the passion and the spot-on teaching - and experience church that's full of energy and God's Spirit.

We meet at Loughton Station at 3:45pm and travel down together for their 5:00pm gathering, which happens at the Salvation Army building near Elephant & Castle Station. Afterwards, we usually grab some food before heading back (so bring about £5 along) and you'll need to be collected from Loughton Station at 8:30pm.

"You are here to be light... God is not a secret to be kept."
A short note to explain our short quote...
This is something that a guy called Jesus from a place called Nazareth said, recorded in a book (sometimes called a 'gospel') about Him written by a guy called Matthew about 1900 years ago. Jesus spoke in a language called Aramaic, and Matthew wrote in a language called Hebrew, so it's been translated a bit since it was originally spoken. This translation of Jesus' words is recorded in a version of the Bible called "the Message". We think these words are *really* important; everything ignite does is about letting young people know that they are here to be lights shining in a dark world. It's pretty cool really to think that what one person said nearly 2000 years ago is still changing people's lives even today...
