Here at ignite we are firm believers that having a good bunch of special events is just as important as having solid, regular programmes. It's the special moments, the memory days, that encourage and empower us in everyday life, and over the next few months we have some fantastic specials coming up!
| ignite @ The Beach Day Out to Southend-on-Sea & Adventure Island Theme Park | |

day out at the beach for you and your mates! For only £20* each, we'll
be travelling by tube/train to Southend where you'll be able to enjoy
the pier, arcades and of course the famous ADVENTURE ISLAND theme park.
All you'll need to bring on the day is a packed lunch, a waterproof and
you'll want about £10 of extra spending money towards your dinner (fish
and chips by the beach...) and any extra activities you want to do
during the day. Oh yeah, and if you're planning on going on the water
rides, it might be a good idea to bring a change of clothes along too... Places are strictly limited for this trip and it's first come, first served so make sure you sign up now! *Subsidised places available - let us know when you sign up and we can come to an arrangement... |  |

| ignite Weekend Away | |
 | An
adventure weekend down at Halls Green Adventure Centre in Kent. Most
suitable for people who already come along to Sparks, Flames and
Inferno activities, but open to anyone who is either interested in
finding out a bit more about what Christians believe in or people who
would say they know Jesus in their lives... It's going to be an action
packed weekend, with raft building, low ropes course, swimming,
climbing, bonfires, games, activities and loads more! The cost will be £70 per person (that's £5 cheaper than last year!) with subsidised places available for families who that's a bit steep for. We'll be travelling by minibus/leaders cars, and you'll need to be picked up from Halls Green (about 1.5 hours drive from Loughton) by your parents on the Sunday afternoon - a few lifts will be available though if you ask quickly... We've only got 25 places, so get your names in soon to guarantee your space. |

LASER MISSION @ KELVEDON HATCH SECRET NUCLEAR BUNKER (April)
This was seriously one of the most fun things we'd ever done! Three hours of missions around the bunker, then a massive sleepover right there in the bunkbeds that would have been used in wartime... Have to admit though, the mannequins everywhere were pretty freaky. CLICK HERE to check out the photos from the day!
The L Factor: BATTLE OF THE BANDS (May)
A fantastic night where over 300 young people from the local area came to watch a fantastic night of bands from around Epping Forest/Harlow fight it out to be crowned 'L FACTOR' champions. UNTD (ignite's entry) came a very close 2nd on the night. CLICK HERE to check out pics from the event

A short note to explain our short quote...
This is something that a guy called Jesus from a place called Nazareth said, recorded in a book (sometimes called a 'gospel') about Him written by a guy called Matthew about 1900 years ago. Jesus spoke in a language called Aramaic, and Matthew wrote in a language called Hebrew, so it's been translated a bit since it was originally spoken. This translation of Jesus' words is recorded in a version of the Bible called "the Message". We think these words are *really* important; everything ignite does is about letting young people know that they are here to be lights shining in a dark world. It's pretty cool really to think that what one person said nearly 2000 years ago is still changing people's lives even today...
